My work experience is varied. I began my career as a park ranger at Pickett’s Mill Battlefield, a Civil War site in northwest Georgia. During my years there, I provided research for interpretive programs, led tours, and coordinated activities for school groups.
After completing my master’s degree, I taught history at the University of West Georgia and Floyd College. Later I taught fifth and sixth grades at Plantation Christian Academy.
For the past seven years, I have pursued my passion for teaching by tutoring students one-on-one. I have the freedom to focus on each child’s needs and tailor my instruction to meet his/her learning style.
I have been married to Jim, the kindest man I’ve known, for twenty-five years. We share our home with a sweet, long-haired, calico cat named Angel.
